A gritter will be taken to Meadowhall on Tuesday as part of a roadshow offering people and businesses advice on how to prepare for severe winter weather.
The Roads Ahead team, which is responsible for upgrading and maintaining Sheffield’s road network, will provide details on the service the city will receive this winter.
Councillor Terry Fox, Sheffield Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Transport, said: “Each year we ensure that the Streets Ahead team are ready to respond to manage whatever the weather brings. This year we also need the public to play their part.
“By doing little things such as clearing the pavement outside your house or using public transport when it does snow, this will help us all move around the city easier.”
Streets Ahead’s Operations Manager, Lynsey Connelly, said: “Our winter maintenance service operates 24-hours a day, seven days a week whenever the weather demands and we’re well prepared for the winter ahead.”
The gritter will be parked at the orange car park at Meadowhall.
