Anger over the shelving of plans to create a new 20mph speed zone has led to a meeting being arranged to discuss the issue.
Councillors have organised the meeting in Ecclesall tomorrow at 7pm after plans for the low-speed zone in Greystones were axed.
It means none of the six signed speed zones created as part of a two-year strategy will be in the south-west of the city.
Coun Roger Davison said: “The council accepted that Greystones was one of the areas most in need of road safety investment.
“Labour bosses quite cynically shelved the Greystones 20mph zone to allow for more investment in their own favoured areas.”
He called on residents to attend Bents Green Methodist Church and have their say over the need for a zone in the area.
