BANK workers who volunteered to clean up green space in a Sheffield community have been praised for their ‘marvellous’ efforts.

Staff working for Santander in the city decided to lend a hand to improve open areas around Herdings Park. They headed out wearing red T-shirts and helped cut back overgrown trees and bushes, as well as removing rubbish.

In a message to the bank workers, David Wright, Sheffield Council’s parks area officer, said: Many thanks for your teams efforts at Herdings Park, they did a marvellous job. The parks supervisor, Danny Coyle was extremely impressed with the way the whole team got stuck into the task and they have made a real difference.”
