Sheffield United and Wales international star James Wilson has become a player ambassador for St Luke’s Hospice.
The 27-year-old Blades centre has pledged his support to Sheffield’s only hospice throughout the 2016/17 season.
St Luke’s is one of the club’s six nominated charities for season 2016/17 and throughout that time James will be supporting hospice fundraising campaigns.
He said: “I am delighted to be the player ambassador for St Luke’s. My recent visit was really interesting and I was impressed at the work they do. I shall look forward to supporting them.”
Joasia Lesniak, St Luke’s corporate fundraising manager, said: “We are delighted to be a nominated charity of Sheffield United FC and are very pleased that James will be our player ambassador. Football is part of the fabric of Sheffield life and we are confident that United’s support for St Luke’s will have a major impact on the work we are doing.”
