A police warning has been issued about thieves in Sheffield on the look out for sat navs and dash cams

It was issued after a dash cam was stolen from a car parked in Robin Lane, Beighton, yesterday afternoon.

Another car on the same street had a window smashed.

Last Sunday a window of a car parked in Severnside Drive, Woodhouse, was smashed.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Please do not leave any items on display in vehicles, no matter how quickly you will be returning to your vehicle.

"Despite the introduction of built in sat navs, there still remains a demand for free standing models. And due to the sudden popularity of dash cams, these are also rich pickings for thieves. "So please remove them when not in the vehicle."
