Sheffield City Swimming Club is celebrating after being awarded a Lottery grant.
It received £7,540 from the Big Lottery to fund a project to deliver health and fitness activities for young people at Heeley Pool.
The swimming club is using the cash to provide free, additional training out of the pool from qualified instructors, tailored specifically to the needs of the swimmers.
Young swimmers are also receiving diet and nutrition advice in weekly workshops.
Karen Pearson, a swimming club committee member, said: “The project has so far been brilliant. The children still get really excited about it, and we are getting continuous positive feedback from them.
“We’ve been winning significantly more swimming competitions.”
