Sheffield-based SCX Group, an umbrella group for three engineering companies, has exceeded its annual fundraising target and raised over £5,500 for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

The group takes part in charity challenges every year and last year chose Bluebell Wood as the beneficiary after the charity provided support to an SCX employee.

SCX employees completed three physically demanding challenges which all took place in the space of three weeks over the summer - a 120 mile two-day bike ride, a 214 sponsored ride from Edinburgh to Whitby and a Tough Mudder obstacle course..

They also organised dress-down days, a horse racing event, a James Bond cinema event and a Christmas jumper day.

Simon Eastwood, Managing Director of the SCX Group, said: “This is our fourth year running sporting charity challenges and it’s been remarkable to witness so much enthusiasm from our staff over the years. The Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice is a cause especially close to our hearts and we have received so much support and care from all those involved this year.”
