A teenage boy stabbed in an attack in Sheffield city centre is expected to make a full recovery.

The 17-year-old remains in hospital in a stable condition today, but South Yorkshire Police said he is expected to survive.

A man in his 20s, who was also hurt in the stabbing, escaped without serious injuries.

They were attacked in a fight in Hartshead Square at around 7.30pm on Monday.

Officers arrested two teenagers, aged 18 and 16, on suspicion of wounding but have released the older one without charge.

The 16-year-old has been bailed pending further inquiries.

Detectives are trawling footage from CCTV cameras in the area.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
