A Sheffield youngster has her sights set on ice success - after achieving her first skating badge at the age of four.

Alexandra Aspinall Dumitrescu, from Crookes, started ice skating at Christmas last year after watching the Angelina Ballerina Dancing on Ice DVD.

The youngster, now five, joined the Skate UK lesson programme at iceSheffield and has two lessons a week.

Her mum, Anca, said: “She’s naturally a very active girl. She loves to be on the ice and is very enthusiastic.

“Alexandra first started skating using a penguin aid on the rink at iceSheffield to learn the basics, but after the first couple of months she was skating on her own and she progressed very quickly.

“She knows not to get ahead of herself but she’s very excited about what she could achieve.”
