A top singer is going to infinity and beyond when she jumps out of a plane to raise cash for a children’s hospital.

Former Sheffield X Factor contestant, Lucy Spraggan, is joining her mates Lloyd Wilkinson and Jordan Stringfellow in a superhero-themed jump to raise money for Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.

Lucy, who will be dressing as Buzz Lightyear for the jump, said: “I chose Buzz as he’s my favourite character from Toy Story and he can kind of fly.

“Even though I’m pretty horrified by heights I thought I might be able to help raise funds for the charity. The work they do is incredible and I’d love to help support them.

“Spectators are welcome to come and support on the day.”

The event, at Brigg Airfield on Sunday, has already raised almost £2,500 for the charity.

The money raised will go towards the charity’s Make it Better appeal, which aims to raise £10 million regionally by 2016 to help transform Sheffield Children’s Hospital into a world class facility to match the world class care already given to its patients.
