Sheffield singer and former X Factor contestant Lucy Spraggan has announced that she and her wife Georgina Gordon are set to become foster carers.
The 25-year-old shared the exciting news yesterday on Twitter by announcing that she and her "fab wife" had been officially approved as foster carers.
Lucy, a former contestant on the 2012 singing competition, uploaded a photo of her and her partner arm-in-arm and looking elated with the news.
The singer-songwriter even encouraged others to follow their lead by posting a link to The Fostering Network if they were interested in becoming foster carers.
Lucy proposed to her then-girlfriend Georgina in April 2015 on a romantic boat trip on the day her single Unsinkable was released.
The pair then tied the knot in June last year with Lucy taking to Instagram to announce she was the "luckiest person on this planet".
Hundreds of fans have already congratulated the pair on their good news on Instagram with the picture receiving almost 6,000 likes.
Lucy couldn't contain her excitement and posted a second picture on Instagram two hours later, elatedly kicking her leg up in the air as she stood against her car.
The good news follows a horrific attack on the pair, as well as Lucy's guitarist, after she performed at Brighton Concorde 2 earlier this month.
In a picture, posted on Instagram, Lucy is seen holding a clump of her own hair before revealing a number of cuts and bruises on her face in a second post.
Police in Brighton arrested a 26-year-old woman and a 27-year-old woman, both from London, on suspicion of assault.
