Fans of the festive period are being invited to help set a new world record by pulling on a seasonal sweater.

Meadowhall is holding a Christmas ‘jumperthon’ in an attempt to smash the current Guinness record for the largest gathering of people wearing festive pullovers in one place.

A minimum of 639 merry participants will be needed to don their long-sleeved Christmas threads in order to achieve a new record.

The jumperthon will take on November 1 and will form part of the Sheffield shopping centre’s Christmas Wrapped Up Early event, while helping to raise funds for St Luke’s Hospice.

Festive fashion wearers will be asked to make a £1 donation to the charity.

Record breakers should arrive at Meadowhall for 11.15am. To register visit www.meadowhall.co.uk
