A SCHOOLBOY organised a sponsored walk in his local community and raised over £770.

Shaun Daley, aged ten, started fundraising for Macmillan because his grandma Barbara Phillips has skin cancer.

His latest event, a 5.4 mile walk through Chapeltown, was supported by family, friends, and pram man John Burkhill - who loaned his Olympic flame for the day.

Proud mum Sonia, of Ecclesfield, thanked everyone who took part.

She added: “Shaun organised this and we are all so proud of him. Fundraising is giving Shaun the courage to face up to what is happening.”
