YOU can always bank on a Sheffield lad.
And that’s exactly what bosses at Lloyds TSB did when they were looking for someone to reopen one of their branches.
The bank closed its Hillsborough branch for refurbishment six weeks ago - then invited the latest person to open an account at the branch to reopen it.
Young saver Sam Green, aged seven, from Handsworth, was honoured to be asked to cut the ribbon.
And branch manager Gill Keith said: “We were really pleased to invite Sam to reopen our branch - all our customers are important to us whatever their age.
“The refurbishment will mean the bank will remain part of the community for many years to come.
“And it will provide a more welcoming and comfortable environment for our staff and customers to do business.”
