Sheffield’s lovely Lily on the lookout for a home

SHE’s a real black beauty.

And lovely Lily, the five-year-old black Labrador, is very much hoping you can give her a ‘forever home’ to settle into.

Visitors can meet Lily at the Sheffield Animal Care Centre in Attercliffe, where she is currently being cared for.

RSPCA Sheffield centre manager Tony Benham said Lily is a pleasure be to around.

“Lily is a fabulous, very good-natured black Labrador, with no known health problems,” he said. “She loves to meet people, rolls to have her tummy tickled, and even hands you her paw.

“Like a lot of Labradors this slinky lady is an enthusiastic and bouncy greeter, so she will benefit from a bit of extra training in that area.

“But you couldn’t find a nicer dog - she’s gentle, merry, polite, loving, and ready to bring a lot of joy into someone’s life.

“She’s a healthy girl who likes her food and her new owner will have to make sure she doesn’t have too many treats and snacks and gets that necessary exercise to stay fit. Like all athletic dogs, she loves long walks and adventures.

“Labradors are also renowned for loving to swim, and play catch and retrieve games.

“Lily will need at least two good walks of 30 to 40 minutes a day as Labradors as a breed are curious, exploratory and love to get out and about.”

Lily enjoys cuddles, human company, other dogs and playing with her toys.

The RSPCA Sheffield branch is open every day except Wednesdays from 12.30pm until 3.30pm, and can be contacted on 0114 289 8050.

The centre is also looking for foster homes.
