A team of five amateur cyclists who call themselves the ‘Fat Lads from Dore’ have successfully completed a 323-mile ride from London to Paris.
Twelve months ago James Hope-Gill, Craig Smith, Dean Dove, Matt Currie and Pete Everitt were cycling novices, but after becoming inspired by the Tour de France they decided to take on the challenge in aid of Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
So far the team has raised £43,000, which will pay for new bedrooms at the hospital. Pete said: “We’re delighted at the incredible support and generosity and we’d love to reach £50,000 so we can provide two rooms.”
