Whatever your age you never lose an eye for style and fashion.
Just ask great grandmother Doris Hepplestone from Sheffield.
Stylish Doris had two reasons to celebrate at Owlerton Greyhound Stadium’s annual Ladies’ Day.
Doris, of Base Green, attended Ladies Day to celebrate her 87th birthday – and came home a winner after being crowned best dressed race-goer!
The fashion and fun stakes were high on the evening with hundreds of women enjoying an evening of dining, bubbly and bets in aid of Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity.
And the judging panel, which included The Star’s women’s editor Jo Davison, awarded Doris top prize.
Sheffield boxer Scott Jenkins, who is sponsored by the stadium, presented Doris with champagne and hairdressing vouchers and said he was ‘knocked out’ by her eye for detail and sharp colour blocking.
John Gilburn, managing director of Owlerton Greyhound Stadium, said: “The evening was such good fun.
“It’s always a popular event as we are the only greyhound stadium in the country which holds an annual Ladies’ Day.
“This year around £4,500 was raised for the Weston Park charity which is a fantastic effort.”
