Tenants of a supported living scheme for people with learning disabilities in Sheffield have taken part in a variety of sports activities.

People from Sanctuary Supported Living’s accommodation, Studfield Crescent, Wisewood, attended Activity Sheffield’s event at the Hillsborough Arena, which coincided with charity Mencap’s learning disability awareness week.

The event provided sports activities such as football, tennis and boccia for people with learning disabilities.

Jan Groom, local service manager, said: “The multi-sports event is a fantastic way for our residents to keep active and have fun with other people from a range of backgrounds.

“It’s a chance to strengthen our links with the community and illustrate the activities our residents are passionate about.”
