A Sheffield receptionist has been inspired to get her ice skates on and get fit after signing up to a London 2012 legacy project.
Wednesday Adams, 20, recently joined Get Sheffield Fit - a project being run by Sheffield International Venues.
The Sportivate programme, launched 11 months ago, provides an opportunity for people aged between 11 and 25 to receive eight weeks one-to-one coaching in a range of sporting activities.
Despite working as a receptionist at iceSheffield, Wednesday had never considered stepping on the ice herself until a colleague suggested she booked on to a lesson.
Wednesday said: “I realised I had nothing to lose and thought it was a good idea.
“I really enjoy watching people ice skate but I’ve never been very good at it so I wanted to improve my skills whilst getting fit at the same time.”
Get Sheffield Fit offers coaching in ice skating, ice hockey, gymnastics, badminton, athletics, self-defence boxing, trampolining, dance, and the gym.
