Sixth form students worked with abandoned and disabled orphans at an orphanage in China.

The group of pupils as well as teachers from Birkdale School in Sheffield ran summer activities for youngsters at the facility operated by the charity International China Concern over the summer.

The cause has been the school’s charity of choice for the last year.

Money collected through fundraising events has been used to purchase specialist medical equipment including a bath and shower chair for youngsters with cerebral palsy.

International China Concern works with the Government to train workers to provide care and education for children.
