It’s official - a Sheffield pub team now holds the world record for the longest barbecue marathon.

Jubilant staff at The Three Merry Lads at Lodge Moor have now had confirmation that their 30-hour cook off broke the previous team record held by two men at London pub who had kept the fires burning for 29 hours and one minute.

The event took place two weeks ago but head chef David Sheldon and owner Barry Croxhall had to submit evidence to the Guinness World Book of Records and then wait for confirmation.
