A POST office will shut its doors as it undergoes a refurbishment.
The Mansfield Road building will be closed between Monday, April 22, and Wednesday, May 1, as work is carried out.
Plans to revamp the office include four serving positions with a separate counter for those looking to purchase something without posting.
Longer opening hours will be in place once the venue reopens on May 2. In the meantime residents are asked to use the nearest post offices in Manor and Frecheville.
Adrian Wales, the Post Office’s regional network manager, said: “We understand how important having a post office is to residents in Intake and we are confident that this new modern post office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
“This modernisation is part of a three-year investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office, that will see around 6,000 branches converting to new-style branches.
“This investment makes a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
