Plans for a pizza takeaway to stay open until 5am have been agreed despite objections.
Papa John’s on Ecclesall Road was granted approval to extend its closing time from 11.30pm seven days a week by a licensing committee on Thursday.
Residents had objected because of fears it would increase litter and noise nuisance. There had been a ‘gradual erosion’ in the quality of life in the area, they claimed.
A Sheffield Council spokesman said a number of conditions applied.
They include having a colour CCTV system in the store, clearing litter within 25 yards of the shop twice a day, having records open for inspection and also displaying notices reminding customers they were in a residential area.
