THE sound of music has helped to raise cash for charity.

Students from the Natalie Wilkinson Piano School in Sheffield played to a sell-out crowd during a fundraising concert at Ecclesfield Comprehensive School.

The event was organised to raise cash for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, which has been the group’s chosen cause this year.

Local mountain biking legend Steve Peat got behind them by donating one of his signed racing jerseys, which raised over £400 at auction.

Department store giant John Lewis also donated £1,266 after Natalie wrote to them.

The total amount donated to the hospice was £5,500.
