Three amateur photographers from Sheffield have been shortlisted for a prestigious national award in a competition showcasing British manufacturing.
Mark Tomlinson, Alan Burke and Chris Charlesworth have been invited to the House of Commons next month, where the overall winner will be announced.
The entered the fifth annual EEF/Lombard ‘Make it Britain’ photography competition, which aims to raise the profile of British manufacturing by showcasing the industry’s creativity, diversity and heritage through inspiring photography.
Mark took four photographs of the manufacturing processes and products at Sheffield Forgemasters and Silverstone; Alan impressed judged with an image taken at Cutting & Wear and Chris entered an image of late afternoon light streaming through large cogging wheels at Firth Rixson Forgings Ltd.
Neil Lloyd, Head of Sales Development for Lombard Business and Commercial, said: “This competition is about capturing the spirit of modern-day manufacturing and these photographers have to be congratulated for taking standout photographs that do exactly that.”
