A police investigation has been launched after a 21-year-old man was allegedly sexually assaulted as he walked down a busy Sheffield road.

A man and woman have been arrested as part of a police probe into armed robberies in Rotherham.

The man, aged 26 and the woman, 25, from Sheffield, were quizzed by detectives over a robbery at TC’s Mini Mart, Brinsworth Road, Catcliffe, on Friday, February 12.

Police said the man was also questioned over a robbery at the Co-op supermarket in Worrygoose Lane, Whiston, on Sunday, February 21.

They have been bailed pending further enquiries.
