A Sheffield opticians is set to hold an open day for youngsters with exclusive offers and attractions.
Bird Opticians in Surrey Street will hold the event on August 16 to raise awareness of the one in four children with an undiagnosed eye condition.
Manager Eleanor Bird said: “Under 16s are entitled to free sight tests. Children’s eyes are still developing until about age eight and the earlier eye conditions are detected, the more likely they can be corrected.
A quiz, refreshments and prizes will also be on offer.
Youngsters will also be able to have their eyes tested by a retinal scanner known as Optomap for free, which would normally cost £25.
