A 29-year-old man from Sheffield who died at the weekend was stabbed in the chest, a post-mortem has found.
Police have named the man who died following an incident on Errington Crescent in Arbourthorne on Sunday morning as Rory Hemmings, from Woodhouse.
A spokesman said it has now been established Mr Hemmings died of a single stab wound to the chest.
Emergency services were called out to the street just before 9am on Sunday, but Mr Hemmings died of his injuries a short time later.
A 36-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, who were both arrested from the scene on suspicion of murder, are still in police custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Craig Jackson, who is leading the investigation, said on Sunday that the local community was ‘understandably shocked and upset’.
He added: “I would like to reassure residents that I do not believe there is any wider danger to members of the public and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.”
Tributes have already been online to Mr Hemmings, who was described by friends as a ‘proper gent’.
