Sheffield man killed in crash named by police

A Sheffield man killed in a crash has been named by police today.

Reece Parkin, aged 21, from Bradfield, died in a smash on the A616 bypass between Wortley and Tankersley last Friday morning.

A blue Vauxhall Astra and a white Mercedes van were involved in the crash.

Mr Parkin, who was driving the Astra, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes van, a 42-year-old man, was taken to hospital following the collision but was not seriously hurt.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "Police are currently investigating the incident and would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened, or saw either of the cars prior to the collision."
