Mountain rescue team volunteers were called out twice on the same night to search for walkers both lost in the same area.

Both men were on Kinder Scout in the Peak District on Tuesday when they ended up in difficulty.

The first caller to ask for mountain rescue team assistance lost his mobile phone signal and with the weather deteriorating the search area was extended.

After four hours the missing walker sent a text message saying he was off the hill and rescue team volunteers made their way back to their bases.

Ten minutes later a 22-year-old Sheffield man called for assistance and a total of 120 volunteers and five search dogs were involved in the search to find him.

He was located at Edale Cross.
