Sheffield Malaysian Games are a winner

MORE than 1,000 Malaysian students took part part in the annual Sheffield Malaysian Games.

It was held at Concord Sports Centre, Shiregreen, with events including table tennis, football, volleyball, badminton and chess.

The festival, run for the 21st year, is organised by the Sheffield Malaysian Students Association and aims to promote Britain’s Malaysian residents and their integration into local communities.

Concord general manager Tim Hicks said: “We’re thrilled to host the Sheffield Malaysian Games. The event is always a big hit with the Malaysian community and a great opportunity for people to take part in a friendly competition.

“The games are a chance for the participants to show off their athletic abilities in a fun, communal environment.”
