A dad whose bin collections have been missed half a dozen times in the last year says his street is often ‘forgotten’ by refuse crews.
Haroon Ayub, of Bramham Road in Darnall, Sheffield, complained to the council’s waste contractor Veolia about the problem after his rubbish bin was not emptied again last week.
He said: “Whenever they come to get the bins they seem to leave my property out.
“I always take it out at 9pm the previous evening so I can’t see how they can miss it.
“When I called to complain the woman on the phone said my bins weren’t there – I feel like I was being called a liar.
“Since the bin collections changed it has been an ongoing problem, like we have been forgotten.”
A Veolia Environmental Services’ spokesman said: “We are aware of an issue with a resident living on Bramham Road regarding presenting bins for collection and have taken steps to address his concerns.
“We take complaints very seriously and if residents do have any queries about collections we would encourage them to call us on 0114 2734567.”
