Big-hearted gym members will be in a spin next week as they are hoping to complete an epic 1540 mile static cycle ride for charity.

Members of Sheffield-based 24 hour gym Anytime Fitness and staff from its PR agency Bodhi Communications have teamed up and aim to complete the ride on a spin bike over seven days.

Liam Grady, 32, founder of Doncaster-based PR agency Bodhi Communications, and his team will join Anytime Fitness manager Claire Burrows and her gym members for the challenge to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Claire said: “Anytime Fitness already has a relationship with the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and once we discovered just how many air miles they do a day, we wanted to give something back with an energetic fundraiser.

“The amazing people at YAA travel around 220 air miles per day, which over seven days is 1540 miles. That is plenty of miles to tackle per day but the challenge is open to all Anytime Fitness members who would like to help complete the overall target, even if its just one mile, it is still a contribution.

“I only have a few weeks to get my fitness levels up, which thankfully on team Bodhi, I also have Paul Glover of Troy Ultimate Health, training me up in Doncaster before the big week in Sheffield. I will literally be working out of Sheffield for seven days to give the Anytime Fitness team and Bodhi Communications the best chance of reaching the target.”

The event will start on Monday, November 23, and will continue until they reach their target.

Claire added: “We have our team raring to go and I think they might be slightly more in shape than Liam is right now. Together though, I believe this target is achievable if both Anytime Fitness and Bodhi Communications work hard enough.

“It is for a great cause and any members of Anytime Fitness can get involved during the week, at any time of the day. Even Anytime Fitness members from across the UK can help, if they just so happen to be in Sheffield during that week.”
