Sheffield group learns to grow own food

A COMMUNITY allotment group in Sheffield next meets on Saturday, March 16, from 11am, for its second open day of the year.

Rivelin Valley-based Hillside Harvest is a small cooperative running a community allotment garden, growing food to share among its members.

The allotment is located on Hagg Hill, off Rivelin Valley Road, and can be accessed from the car park on Bole Hill Road at the top of the allotment block, and following the signs to the allotment gardens.

Members aim to grow crops as organically and sustainably as possible, provide young people with the chance to enjoy healthy outdoor activities, and learn how to grow more of their own food.

Log on to www.hillsideharvest.org.uk for information.
