Extra water had to be laid on to keep runners cool as they took on a five kilometre race in Sheffield.
The Taste fun run, on a route around Weston Park and Crookes Valley Park, involved 150 people – including BBC presenter Dan Walker from Hunters Bar.
Ben Udejiofo, chief executive of Taste, which raises funds to provide boreholes in Nigeria, said: “We are expecting between £3,000 and £3,500 to have been raised – which will be enough to fund one borehole.
“Each borehole provides enough water for around 2,000 people.”
Mr Udejiofo added: “The race, on Saturday, was pretty hot and we had to lay on extra water for the runners themselves, with a second drinking station!”
The winner was Mr Udejiofo’s son, Ben, aged 15, who completed the course in 18 minutes. Dan Walker finished fifth.
The event was the 12th year the race has taken place.
