Sheffield Fritzl: 100 at fault - but not one of them is to blame!

MORE than 100 staff from 28 agencies did nothing as a Sheffield dad raped and tortured his two daughters for more than three decades.

But the authorities have revealed nobody involved with the family had been sacked or disciplined or had resigned over the failures.

A damning report into the case of the 'Sheffield Fritzl' reveals staff had their suspicions of the abuse - but did nothing because they were scared of the bullying intimidating father and claimed there was no evidence.

Dr Sonia Sharp, Sheffield Council executive director of children and young people's services, said there was not one 'big act' which allowed the authorities to say one individual was to blame.

But - as the victims were offered an unreserved apology - she added: "Time after time after time there were groups of people that failed to take action."

See today's Star for a five-page special report including professionals too afraid to protect sisters from father; son's message to abusive father; and daughters forced to comply with sexual demands.
