A MAN who survived a seven-storey plunge from a block of flats in Sheffield is ‘stable but critical’ in hospital, police have said.

The 35-year-old Sheffield man is believed to have fallen from a balcony at Regent Court, Bradfield Road, Hillsborough, shortly after midday on Tuesday.

He miraculously survived the fall, and paramedics rushed him to the Northern General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman yesterday said the man was still in a ‘critical’ state, but doctors had managed to stabilise his condition.

At least 10 police vehicles attended the scene between Owlerton Stadium and Hillsborough Corner, at 12.15pm on Tuesday, before officers taped off the residential tower block.

Police said they were conducting enquiries into the incident.
