A trial has been set for the murder of Sheffield man Grant Bodell.

Torrington Smith, aged 25, of Samuel Close, Norfolk Park, is accused of killing the 23-year-old father-of-two.

Mr Smith will appear back at Sheffield Crown Court for trial on November 17.

Mr Bodell, of Windy House Lane, Manor, was found with gunshot wounds on wasteland near Queen Mary Road in the early hours of Saturday, June 21 last year.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance but could not be saved and was pronounced dead a short time later.

Mr Smith appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.

He was remanded in custody and will enter a plea at a hearing on July 29 at the same court.
