A Sheffield homebuyer went back to his roots to become the 100th person to pick up the keys to a city house firm’s property.
Alan Pickstone, aged 44, bought a three-bedroom townhouse in Parson Cross - the 100th property sold by Sheffield Housing Company - with fiancee Amy, 20.
The couple’s three storey townhouse is part of a city-wide regeneration scheme in which Sheffield will benefit from the creation of 2,300 new homes – around 10 per cent of which will be for affordable rent.
For Alan, fond memories of the 20 years he spent living in Falstaff Crescent, Parson Cross, were what tempted him to make the move.
And Amy said: “It seems to be a series of very happy coincidences.
“I love the house and the fact that it’s so close to where Alan grew up – and that we are the 100th buyers just makes everything that bit more special.”
