SOUTH YORKSHIRE bodybuilder Rachael Hayes has got it all worked out – and now her husband Jon is muscling in on her success.
In the space of a month, Rachael has scooped two top titles in the United States.
And Jon, who travelled to the US with Rachael, took a medal in a competition to find the world’s best professional natural bodybuilders.
Rachel, now back home in the village of Wales with Jon, first powered her way to the Pro Universe Athletic title and then won the first Drug-free Athletes Coalition world professional athletic title in Miami.
Now aged 44, South Yorkshire Police business manager, Rachael, who trains at Jon’s Evolution Gym in Westfield, has been competing as a natural, or drug-free, bodybuilder since 1997.
She won the British amateur title in 2004 and gained her first professional title just weeks ago.
Jon won a medal after finishing fourth on his professional debut, in the over-40s category of the DFAC World Championships.
Rachael said: “The standard of competitor in both the amateur and professional was exceptional and the show was a great success.
“I am happy to gain top two titles in the space of a month.
“And what made it extra special is that it was Jon’s pro debut in the Masters Class and he got fourth in the medals.”
This year, the couple have judged at numerous British Natural Bodybuilding Federation shows,
And Rachael hosted the British Finals and, as well as competing in the USA, she also judged two competitions and performed a guest spot at the DFAC Florida State Natural Championship, the first natural GB athlete to do so.
