A Sheffield community leader who raised concerns about fly tipping in his neighbourhood has been contacted by council chiefs to set up a meeting.
Taha Saleh, chairman of Darnall Action Group, took The Star on a tour around the suburb to show some of its worst grot-spots.
He said: “I have since received calls from Sheffield Council looking to help out.”
Streets affected include Main Road, Staniforth Road and Fisher Lane.
Coun Jack Scott, Sheffield Council’s cabinet member for environment, said: “We can only act if the fly-tipping is reported. But we can’t do it all and we need as much help and community intelligence as possible, so we have contacted the chairman of the Darnall Action Group to arrange a meeting.
“We have already met the Darnall Environmental Forum to discuss the issues and how to resolve them.”
