Youngsters are being introduced to the great outdoors thanks to a new school with a twist.
Children from the Richmond area of Sheffield take part in tug-of-wars, log balancing and making medals out of wood and string in the forest school project.
The scheme is run by Richmond Activity Club and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust in Bowden Housteads Woods between Darnall and Handsworth.
Organiser Kenny Stimpson said: “Most of the kids don’t have much, so we do what we can to provide activities. They love it and so do we.”
Courtney Simpson, aged eight, added: “Making dens was my favourite thing, and log balancing. I really enjoy forest school.”
The club is now planning lots of events for the future including fundraising to pay for day trips and a girls’ night for teens aged 13 and over.
It is supported by Sheffield Futures.
