MORE than 145 Sheffield teenagers have taken part in a real-life job interview experience with potential employers in their area including housing providers, banks, and the communications industry.

Year 11 students and sixth formers from Park Academy, Manor, went through mock-interviews with a choice of more than 20 different advisors to give them an insight into the interview process and help them gain the confidence and practical skills they will need to handle job applications and interviews.

The project is a partnership between housing provider Guinness Northern Counties, Sheffield Park Academy and not-for-profit training company Business Education.

Year 11 student Laura Eyre, aged 15, said: “I’ve never done anything like this before, but I really enjoyed it.”
