A Sheffield charity will expand its services for families of children in hospital after receiving a £10,000 grant.

Sincere Support secured the money through the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards For All programme.

It is one of 155 projects across Yorkshire and the Humber to share £1.3 million.

Sincere Support will use the money to train more volunteers and pay for volunteer counsellors.

Grimethorpe Colliery Band Limited, in Barnsley, received £9,730 to run music workshops for young people aged seven to 20.

Dharmendra Kanani, Big Lottery Fund England director, said: “The grants will bring real improvements to the lives of people in the Yorkshire region.”
