A Sheffield animal centre is to be given a new lease of life, thanks to a donation from Crown Paints.

The RSPCA branch, in Attercliffe, will transform its busy cattery, after winning a special community initiative from Crown, to find a charity group whose premises needed a makeover.

Tony Benham, RSPCA acting manager, said: “Our Sheffield adoption centre costs £2,000 a day to run and we have to generate all operating costs ourselves through local fund-raising. The kennels and cattery need to be decorated every two years on average which obviously creates a significant expense for an organisation that relies heavily on donations, so we’re thrilled be have been chosen.”
