ARMY cadets from Sheffield took time out from training and drills to raise funds for a Forces charity.

The Royal Signals cadets, from Manor Top, stationed themselves in Orchard Square in the city centre with collection buckets, taking donations for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association.

The charity helps serving and former members of the Armed Forces, as well as their families, by providing healthcare, financial assistance and emotional support.

Manor Top Detachment parades twice a week, and has a miniature rifle range which cadets use for target practice.
