A Sheffield bus driver sacked for using his mobile phone at the wheel has had his professional licence suspended.

Jonathan Frost, aged 41, of Greystones Road, Greystones, was filmed by a young mum speaking on his phone as he drove a TM Travel bus between Dore and Jordanthorpe on April 17.

Frost, who was fired by TM Travel after the incident, was the subject of a recent hearing by the deputy traffic commissioner for the north east.

He failed to attend the conduct hearing but his professional licence was suspended for three weeks.

Following the incident, Phil Stockley, general manager of TM Travel, said: “Clearly the driver has done something he shouldn’t do and he has been dealt with accordingly. “He no longer works for us.”
