Sheffield barber Adam Mir is taking a short cut to the top of his chosen career after being named winner of the British Barbers Association Masters competition.

The competition, which consisted of classic and creative categories, was open to all barbers in the UK with winners announced at an awards ceremony in Cardiff.

Adam, who works at Taylor Taylor Barbershop on Surrey Street in the city centre, was named winner of the classic master category.

To enter Adam had to submit two hair images of his look – from the front and the side.

They were judged by the 3,000 plus members of British Barbers Association who voted online.

Adam said: “I’m so pleased to have won this award, it means a lot to me especially as this was the first BBA Masters competition held at the first UK barbering exhibition.”
