The lingerie and erotic retailer has revealed the city's kinks and fetishes on the most loved-up day of the year - and the results are pretty shocking.

The survey results showed that people in Sheffield aren’t saving the passion for behind bedroom doors - 6% like to get it on in the shower, 6% prefer to stick to the floor, with a further 4% embracing the great outdoors and getting frisky in the garden.

When it comes to positions, 27% love ‘doggy style’, 15% prefer ‘girl on top’, but a very flexible 6% like a girl’s legs over their shoulders.

The city’s main Ann Summers store in The Moor has also revealed its five best-selling items.

The people of Sheffield were shown to have similar tastes to the UK as a whole - one in four Brits (24%) agreed and stated that doggy style was their firm favourite over any other sexual position, followed by reverse cowgirl (15%) and missionary (12%).

It appears that people in Sheffield are a naughty bunch when it comes to getting their kicks; over a quarter (27%) admit that watching porn together regularly helps get them in the mood, and a further 40% claim to have turned up the heat and created their own ‘naughty video’ on a smartphone.

When asked where they like to get jiggy, it appears a growing number of people are taking the heat out of the bedroom.

Over a third (39%) revealed that they regularly get frisky in their car; 22% have (literally) had sex on the beach; 19% get hot and steamy in the shower; and 12% admit to getting down and dirty in the great outdoors.

A further 13% conceded to getting it on with a colleague at work, and 12% claimed to have had sex in their parent’s bed!

After discovering what turns Brits on and where they like to have sex, Ann Summers also delved into further details about their naughty goings on behind closed doors.

On average, two thirds of people (66%) make love in two to three positions in one session; a further energetic 4% like to ramp it up and experiment with five sexual positions each time they have sex.

When it comes to how often they do the deed, over a third (35%) revealed they make time to have sex two to four times per week.

Respondents were also asked what age they had the best sex; the majority of men (85%) said 26 years old whilst over half (53%) of women said 35.
