AIR cadets from Sheffield were among members of the organisation’s South and West Yorkshire Wing honoured at a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award presentation.
Cadets were handed bronze, silver and gold awards at an event hosted by Wing Commander Brian Daniel, Commanding Officer of South and West Yorkshire Wing and held in Wakefield.
Wg Cdr Daniel said “The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a fantastic qualification. It ties in so well with the Air Training Corps, with the aims of the corps and what we do.
“Cadets get a lot out of the award. As an employer it is something I look for, it shows the applicant has commitment, determination and drive. It is something I look for on a CV.”
A total of 107 cadets from across the region have gained an award from the Duke of Edinburgh’s scheme this year.
